Day 52: Liturgical semantic paraphasia


Quote of the night by the friend pictured above:

“At the 728 Christmas party after the Easter vigil…”

So apparently there was a celebration of Christ’s birth after His Resurrection… Then again,  both are related to the celebration of new life.

But that’s not how the two feast days are listed in the liturgical calendar.

The semantic paraphasia (the SLP term used to characterize these errors in an aphasic’s speech) left me laughing while my friend turned away in shame. I enjoyed giving him some trouble for it for the rest of the conversation.
