Day 80: Young Lectors

ImageToday my mom, brother, and I happened to go to the family Mass offered at our parish. The highlight was hearing first and second graders do the readings and petitions. My heart melted from the sound of their high-pitched voices as they haltingly read their assigned text and from the awkward positioning of their arms to cue the responses. All the young readers were appropriately dressed for the occasion in cute outfits. My favorite reader was a tiny blonde boy with a yellow collar shirt, a navy jacket, and a blue-spotted bow tie. Overall, it was great to see little ones participating in the Mass and having those of us who adore children hold in our squealing during the prayer service.
